The energy services company ACEINSA is in charge of carrying out three of the four lots for the replacement of lighting with LED luminaires from the manufacturer PRILUX.
The actions have been 80% financed by the IDAE (Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving). The City Council will provide 1.2 million euros in funding.
The coordination work between the City Council, the company awarded the contract, the engineering company and the manufacturer has been fundamental in executing a project that will save the municipality 432,932.16 €.
EnergyTASa company specialising in public lighting projects, has been commissioned to carry out an audit from an energy, economic and social point of view, giving special importance not only to the lighting, but also to the elements that make it up, such as control panels, lines or fuse boxes, among others. In turn, the company will be responsible for site management and health and safety coordination in the lighting renovation process.
A total of 7,560 luminaires and 155 control panels are being replaced to offer the City Council a clear overall benefit after the action: energy savings, environmental improvement and safety for citizens.
Following these actions, ACEINSA, true to its commitment to the environment, will achieve a saving for the municipality of 4,391,565 kWh and a saving of 1,712.79 Tn of CO2 emitted into the environment. No less important is the correct lighting that Ponteareas will have after the works, which will provide the citizens with the necessary safety to move around the streets in the hours without natural light.
Prilux, a manufacturing company with more than 35 years of experience in the lighting sector, has been in charge of supplying the luminaires and providing the intelligent remote management lighting solution, both from panels and point to point, through its Prilux Cora Platform. This solution makes it possible to monitor, measure, control and remotely manage the lighting infrastructure to optimise the quality of the lighting.
The objectives of the project were to increase the efficiency of the installation, control light pollution and improve lighting in dark areas of the municipality by facilitating lighting maintenance tasks, for which ACEINSA has already started work.
For its part, the manufacturer, after studying the needs of the project, opted for Avatar, Versa L and Arisa Top2 street mo-dels for the most part. These luminaires are equipped with high luminous efficiency, a wide range of wattages and optics that adapt to the needs of the different spaces and allow uniformity of light in all streets. The selected luminaires prevent light flow to the upper hemisphere, are resistant to external influences due to their high IP and Ik ratings and ensure a longer life of the electronics and LEDs thanks to efficient thermal management.

Special lighting solutions have also been contemplated in the project to reinforce the lighting at zebra crossings and the safety of pedestrians in areas not regulated by traffic lights or with deficient lighting.
In short, the solution provided by Prilux will generate the following benefits for the municipality of Ponteareas:

- Reduction of light pollution leading to more comfortable and healthier environments for both biodiversity and humans.
