The SLR 2019/2020 regulation is provided for the regulatory purpose of ecodesign requirements for light sources and independent control gear. On the other hand, ELR 2019/2020 focuses on the energy labelling of light sources. As a consequence, SLR 244/2009, SLR 245/2009, SLR 1149/2012 and ELR 974/2012, ELR 2017/1369 are repealed.
The scale of classifications is thus amended. The new label removes the A+ and A++ classes, facilitating a new classification from A to G. The reclassification is intended to standardise the energy improvements that products have undergone in recent years by providing an understandable scale for the end user.
The new label includes, together with the energy labelling, a QR code to redirect the consumer to a European-wide database EPREL (European Product Database for Energy Labelling) where all light sources available for sale in the EU countries are displayed.
At the Prilux Group, we have updated, at product level, our ranges of light sources by increasing the luminous flux values and improving the RIPPLE, THD and FLICKER characteristics.
We support this initiative with the intention of strengthening the saving of natural resources and promoting technological development in Europe.
